Heavy words, and ones she was not quite sure she understood the implications of. What was it he saw? All too late, she realized she wasn't being as subtle as she'd like with her confusion. There was one statement in there that she understood, or at least thought she did, and so it was the only one she chose to respond to. She replaced her quizzical look with an appeasing sort of smile.
